Faxing Services: We accept cash, check, or debi/creditt cards for faxing services, and staff do the work. $1.75 for the first page and $1 for every other page thereafter to fax anywhere in the US. This fax machine does receive faxes. Please call 336-318-6803 for more information.

Get a Library Card!

We are now fully open to the public. Hours of operation for some libraries have changed--see individual libraries for hours here. Masks are optional and are provided free of charge at the entrance.

Library cards and their replacements are free of charge.  The first day you check out after you register, you are limited to five items. It can be used at any of the seven public libraries in Randolph County (Archdale, Asheboro, Franklinville, Liberty, Ramseur, Randleman, Seagrove).

We must have the following to obtain a library card:

  • You must be a resident of North Carolina, at least 16 years of age, and
  • Present a valid North Carolina driver's license or other positive (picture) identification showing your current address.
  • If your ID does not have current address, please bring in a lease agreement, mortgage, bank statement, utility bill (gas, electric, water, Internet), or something from the government (federal, state, local) showing your current address.
  • You must sign a statement that you will be responsible for returning materials on time and in good condition.
  • If you are between the ages of five and fifteen, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign for your card.

Library materials can be renewed by telephone with your library card in hand or online, as long as they are not overdue, by accessing "My Account" through the online catalog.

Your default PIN is the last 4 digits of your phone number for the library card. For renewing online with the lunch number, the PIN is the first 4 numbers of your birth date. That is, if you were born on May 7th, your PIN would be "0507". If need help please call (336) 318-6800 for assistance.

Your library card is similar to a credit card and should be treated as such. Somebody could take your card, check out hundreds of dollars' worth of materials, not return them, but you would be billed for them and responsible for payment.

Public School Students: Students' lunch numbers (which include Uwharrie Charter and all public schools within the county) may borrow up to 10 books (and only books) and no fines if books are returned late. Damaged and lost items do apply. Their PIN is the first 4 numbers of their birth date. For example, if the student was born on May 4th, their PIN would be 0504.
