Lexi in the Lab (Best for ages 4+, with adult supervision): An interactive LIVE program designed for kids and the kids at heart. Join “Lexi in the Lab” and learn how to do fun science experiments from materials you already have a home! The Live virtual events will take place on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 2:30 PM. Asheboro Art Adventures (Best for Ages 4+): A virtual program that teaches children and families about famous artists and helps them experiment with various art techniques at home. A supplemental “art in the park” activity will be available, weather permitting, the Friday after the program. Asheboro Art Adventures premieres on RCPL Facebook and RCPL YouTube every other Thursday at 1:00 PM.

Your Library At Home (All Ages): Your Library at Home is an instructional series of how-to videos assisting parents and families with creating a storytime at home. Each installment will teach families how to add elements of early literacy to circle time at home. Learn how to create felt board stories, pick picture books for your child’s reading level, compose a storytime, and read aloud like a children’s librarian. Videos will premiere on RCPL Facebook and RCPL Youtube the last Thursday of each month.
Family Sing-along (All Ages): A virtual sing-along and read-along that’s fun for the whole family! Find play in every day as we develop early literacy skills through singing, reading, playing, talking and writing. Videos premiere on RCPL Facebook and RCPL YouTube every other Tuesday at 10:00 AM.
What’s Cookin’? Mug Edition (Best for Ages 5+, with adult supervision): A virtual program designed for all budding chefs. Follow recipes made with ingredients you already have at home, made in a coffee mug with a microwave! Read With Me (Best for Ages 10+): A live virtual program hosted twice a month in Google Meet. Join Miss Emily as she reads a few chapters aloud from a book and then take turns talking about what we read together. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their opinions on the book during every meeting. At the end of every program, participants will vote on whether they want to continue reading this book in the following Read With Me, or if they want to start reading a new book. Registration is required. The participation link will be sent to registered emails at 5:00 PM on the day of the program, and the program will begin at 5:30.
