Seagrove Public Library: Past Programs

Program list

Ready, Set, Hatch!

With help from Randolph County 4H we are incubating eggs at the library! The eggs were "set" on October 13th. Each day we turn the eggs and check other vitals. Starting at about 18 days the baby chicks will pip through the shells. By 21 days they will have emerged, provided we do everything right--cross your fingers!

The baby chicks will stay at Franklinville while they hatch. Once they have all emerged, we will bring them here to Seagrove Library where they will brood for a few days. We'll have a program at Seagrove on November 3rd at 4 pm where Allison, a 4H agent, will discuss heritage breeds and chick development.

Starting at about 14 days, (October 27th), you can watch the chicks on our "chick feed" and keep up with our progress on Facebook and Youtube.
